International Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation

3rd World Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation

June 23-27. 2025, Krusevo, North Macedonia (Hotel Montana)

Religion and the Contemporary Phase of Globalization: Possibilities and Challenges

Since globalization is considered as the first truly world revolution, all revolutions disrupt the traditions and customs of the believers of faith communities and religious groups. As globalization disrupts traditional communities, causes economic marginalization, and brings mental stress, believers feel these less desirable consequences of globalization. As globalization creates a global village, it dramatically alters what individuals traditionally understood themselves by citizenship, nationality, and “immigration. For instance, the European Union does not call their members by country of origin but rather by their greater title, European citizens. Moreover, such organizations set universal standards upon all members, causing individuals to believe that they are not fairly represented. As a result, feeling that these organizations have shattered their protective cocoon that has shielded them in the past, many individuals find comfort in religion….

The deadline for submission of abstracts is April 15, 2025.

Letter of the President

Dear and respected colleagues,

Our successful scientific story began in 2109 when we held the First European Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation in Struga on the shores of the beautiful Ohrid Lake. After the exceptional success we achieved from a scientific and organizational perspective, at the Second European Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation, which we held in 2022, we decided to expand our scope of action. Namely, due to the great interest in participating in the Conference by eminent researchers and professors dealing with various aspects of religion, from the USA, Asia and Africa, we decided to organize the First World Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation in 2023. The following year, we organized the Second World Conference. The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia was our patron at both Conferences. The Second World Conference gained scientific weight and quality in two aspects. Firstly, we also got UNESCO as the patron of the Conference and secondly, we also got a co-organizer of the Conference in the name of CESNUR (Center for Studies on New Religions) from Turin, Italy.

Centre for Intercultural Studies and Research at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje organize the Third World Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation in Kruševo, a museum city, which is one of the most beautiful cities in North Macedonia. This conference will be attended by eminent professors and researchers in the field of religion and culture who will be representatives of the largest number of countries from all over the world. The latest research results in the field of intercultural and religious dialogue and cooperation in the world will be presented at the Conference. All the papers will be published in the Journal Religious Dialogue and Cooperation ( http://periodica.fzf.ukim.edu.mk/rdc/about_the_journal.html ). Certain authors who we consider to have had the best presentations will receive an invitation to be a part (with their own book chapters) in the book (edit collection) that will be published by one of the eminent publishing houses in Europe. Through these papers, we will send a clear message to the political and religious elite in the world. In addition, we will use the presence of the participants at the Second World Conference for their networking, which will lead to the realization of numerous scientific research projects in the field of religion and culture.

We are waiting for you in Krusevo, where you will experience the famous Macedonian hospitality!!!
